Anyone noticed this announcement on Qantas long haul flights? I'm sure all airlines don't allow children to sleep on the floor, but Qantas is the only airline from the many I've flown to call it out explicitly. Also, it's always a manual announcement and not part of the safety video or anything.

Has Qantas always made this announcement? I wonder if something happened in the past to warrant adding this announcement?

I feel like I've heard it before. The QF FAs certainly made sure any kids that were sitting on the floor at any point during the flight were moved to seats.

Yes, this announcement has been part of the spiel for years.. perhaps decades.

I think I've been on a few other carriers that say it (NZ maybe?) but yeah, it's not explicit on many I agree.

My memory might be deceiving me, but I think VA made the same announcement on their 777 long haul flights?

Yes, I recall hearing the "we do not allow anyone, including children, to sleep on the floor" announcement over a decade ago on long-haul Qantas flights.

Have heard it on both QF and EK flights. I don't remember it on a KQ flight - but probably because the kids were too busy running up and down the aisles...
