Interesting to read the Courier Mail this morning and see a whole page about DJ letting some staff go for alleged various reasons not related to their performance. While it is good to see some articles about airlines other than Qantas, its a pity they have to have such a critical slant to them, one does have to wonder about the agendas being driven?

Can't find an article...

Personnel let go from the Village? I know there have definitely been some agendas there to get rid of the old guard by JB and his team - that's common knowledge in Brisbane and hardly unexpected with a big change in strategic direction and new senior management. Whether they have crossed the legal line who knows but there has been a lot of movement.

Not sure about the general front line staff situation though.

But don't worry markis10 No News will be back at QF tomorrow for some terrifying near death incident ;)

The agenda is quite simple. Lawyers circling for a kill, driving their own agendas and currently throwing mud to smear.

I think this is the article:
Lawyer says Virgin Blue displayed `unhealthy work culture' in city office | Courier Mail

Maurice Blackburn lawyer Terri Butler, who represents the women, said they had a right to exercise their parental leave entitlements and to rejoin the Virgin Blue workforce in roles commensurate with their expertise.

``To be discriminated against for being pregnant or on maternity leave reflects a very unhealthy work culture at Virgin Blue,'' Ms Butler said.

Vandeven and Aitken filed their claim in court this month following failed mediation talks in October and February.

I don't get your point here. You're saying it's a good thing we're now reading more non-Qantas articles, yet it's a pity they are critical? When was the last time we saw a non-critical Qantas article?

Not that it matters - perhaps more appropriately this topic should be named according to the article you are quoting with a subtext opinion that you think No News is on a DJ attack, not the other way around.

In any case, in response to "is No News on a DJ attack", I'd expect a longer substance trail than just one article to back up your claim.

I think it's just being lazy. The bigger the target the easier it is to write up a story without actually having to investigate anything other than a google search.

What ever happened to real stories?
Whatever happened to journalists with a sense of morality and writing the facts?
No news is getting out of hand imo, yesterday I wrote an email to the herald sun complaining about their coverage of the Japan quake because yesterday they ran a headline claiming that 1000 people had been killed by the explosion at the nuclear reactor-that was just false-yes at that time 1000 people were feared dead but that was due to the quake and the tsunami-not the explosion-that is an example of the sort of cough writing that I have come to expect from Australian newspapers .
Cheers

well, there was that report on QF First Class last week where the only "negative" thing was the comment that there weren't quite enough movies in the IFE! ;)
