My research is not coming up with anything that would be good to use while travelling.

the 28 Degrees card is great - but is there anything that has no conversion fees and a rewards program?

No, not yet in Australian market.

In the US American Express has just removed foreign exchange fees from their cards, however the consensus on here seems to be that AU American Express is very unlikely to follow.
We can live in hope though.

Perhaps it may help if enough people give Amex a call and lodge a formal complaint
