No Flights from Canberra?

Whew, thought it was just me. A few days ago looked up flights from ADL-CNS for mid July. A number of flights showing but thought I'd hold off until confirmation of border opening in Qld. Just had a look and absolutely nothing for the month of July now. Appears to have been taken offline - completely opposite to what's showing in VA's minimal schedule list. Makes it difficult to plan ahead, but hopefully a little more clarity by the end of the month.

Sure does, I have to apply for vacation days from work so not knowing now if the border will even open is making this very difficult. I'm really itching to get back in the air.

Agreed, in same dilemma, we have to bring multiple people in from multiple states, and because the states are being wishy washy with open dates, not announcing or announcing, some states allowing people from some states but not others - this is making it really hard for Qantas and Virgin to plan flights, hence the schedules are a total mess.....

I am sure by August the borders will be open, if the Premier doesn't do it herself I think the lawsuits will. Getting a bit absurd to keep them closed now.
In turn I think it's absurd to imagine lawsuits will settle anything. It is entirely possible a lawsuit could take months if not years.. And where would you file the suit ? In Canberra where we've already just established we can't get any flights into and out of.. you'd have to fly... QAN! urgh! :)

I also find it really weird to think that applying pressure to the premier (via media, commentary and so on) is going to be the way this is resolved. If the premier had turned around and said that any additional COVID19 deaths proven to have occurred from travel via an open border would result in manslaughter charges against those travelling there would be an uproar..

I've also just looked and can't see any CBR-OOL flights at all so I think you'd definitely have to ring the call centre to figure out whether this would be possible or not.

It isn't 'wishy washy' - it's literally having no previous process or plan to follow for an unprecedented situation. If this had been an earthquake or a flood or bushfire there's a plan and prior data to work through.

I'm going back to the early predictions and just NSW was contemplating 1.5m infections and 25K deaths.. Because that didn't happen it seems that people believe it can't happen?

I have no problem with suggesting that state governments can and should be doing a much better job on being transparent and having a plan but honestly.. in which direction do they go and if they get it wrong with no option to 'put things back' what do you do ?

I just had a look and other than Qantaslink, there wasn't a single VA flight into CBR i could find today..

I can get from CBR-SYD with Qantas, then SYD-OOL with Virgin on the way home we can get from Bundy to CBR via Virgin with a stop in Brisbane if I wait until the very end of August.
This is unless they change the schedule again if we ever get word about a border opening.

With the patchwork border openings it’s been very hard to schedule flights and planes appropriately.

Once all the borders are open I’m sure we will see better and more consistent schedules appear.
