Does Qantas not post out FF cards to overseas addresses?
After dropping down to Gold from 10+ years of Plat recently
, I waited for my new Gold card to arrive. After 2 weeks, I called and they said they'd arrange for it to be sent.
Still not arrived today, two weeks later, so I called again (I have an overseas trip coming up). Call centre lady, after checking my details, apparently attempted to 'have it sent' (I imagine by putting a command or checking a box on her screen), but it failed. "Overseas address-rejected" she read out to herself. She went to put me on hold to get around this and I asked that if its sent, it be sent express, due to my up-coming trip. She replied that it would cost $30 to be sent express (
really? Is that cost recovery, or gouging? Silly question
). I suggested that Qantas may like to waive that charge, as the problem seems to be at their end.
Came back after a while and explained that because "it saw an overseas address, it rejected the send". We had already checked my details, and they were correct (PO Box in Tasmania). They are sending it express, no cost, hopefully to Tasmania.
Maybe Qantas IT thinks Tasmania is overseas? Or thinks its Tanzania? Or is this another shining example of Qantas IT?
But seriously, doesn't Qantas post its FF cards to overseas addresses? I get cards from many offshore airlines sent to me here.
