Hi Can some please explain how 11 months out l cannot find any business class flights for 2 to either London or Rome in May 2023.
I have over 3 million points on bronze status but no status credits.
Also how many reward seats are available on flights to Europe?

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Welcome to AFF @Harry Belafonte . Can you see 1 seat, or none?

Could be this reason - I think Plats and above get access to the award inventory at about 350 days, so the inventory may have been snapped up. As a bronze I think you cannot even 'see' the award inventory (or what's left) until about 297 days out.

Coupled with that they may be exceptionally stingy with award inventory (as everyone wants to fly and are willing to pay), so maybe the award seats were never there.

Unless its changed, I'm pretty sure premium QF award seats are released 297 days for Bronze, 323 for Silver against 353 for higher status

It’s because seeing availability is coupled to your status. I think that for Bronze it’s 297 days out on QF, and for higher status around 354 days. So by day 297, most Intl J QF inventory has been booked by higher tier status PAX - so in many cases, you can only hope for cancellations going back in the pool by checking frequently as bronze.

I’d suggest you’d have better luck looking ex SIN, KUL, CGK etc and get a cheap ticket up there first.
Also, you may be looking for SYD to Rome or London, but think further outside the box. I.e. Adelaide to Frankfurt, Brisbane to Munich etc etc

Usually, availability is much better from Asia to Europe.

If you are prepared to make a staging flight to say, Singapore, you may have better luck getting J award seats from there to London.

Try a search from SIN, BKK, even TYO

Welcome @Harry Belafonte . great to have you onboard. of course a young Harry was my favourite singer as a youngster.

I was in the same position as you quite a few years ago after I decided other airlines offered better service. i only had a million points but no SCs or status. fortunately I could transfer most to my wife who does have status. But was able to snag the occasional J seat Asia to Europe.

Just now I did a search using my QFF number. Still no status,no SCs but only a few thousand points. But searching HND - LHR on may 10/23 could get 2 J awards on BA direct flight or 2 J awards flying either JAL or AY to HEL and then on to LHR. On 7/5/23 I could get 2 J awards on the direct JAL flight to LHR.

As a bronze member it's unlikely you'll find much (or anything) on Qantas' own flights to London or Rome. But you may have better luck searching for flights on partner airlines, if booking well in advance.

Also, make sure that you're searching correctly on the Qantas website. You need to be searching for Classic Rewards - selecting "use points" isn't enough. (See No, Qantas Classic Rewards to London Don't Cost a Million Points)
