Nice wines I have drunk recently - Red or White

Was waiting to try Lamella 18 with a bit of age to see if it lives up to the hype of a perfect score. Standish wines need time to breathe so I decanted at midnight to drink at 8pm, total 20 hours.

I’m not great at describing wines so will leave the poetry to EL and others, all I can say is WOW this is an absolute brilliant representation of Aussie Shiraz. In terms of complexity and value for money ($105 at release) Standish blows out of the water far more expensive Barossan wine labels.

Only tried a ‘15 Lamellar so far, it was about a year ago and wow was a suitable descriptor for it as well. Must be about time to pull out another Standish. I have opened 4 Standish to date with my first vintage 2015 and every one has lived up to the hype - 2 x Relic, 1 x Schubert Theorem and the Lamellar. My gripe with Wendouree is I allocate some of my limited wine budget to buy some Wendouree then miss out on some or most, and also miss out on getting more of these or other quality wines.

I thoroughly enjoyed this wine. Yes, it's definitely interesting and complex. Perhaps like @boomy I'm not the best at describing wine but here goes.
On the nose I thought it definitely Grenache. At first delicate, floral (Grenache) and earthy (Mataro) but not overly tannic like I thought a Mataro would be but the tannins are there. Not big or bold but yes, the finish is Shiraz.
I paid $38 at Cellar Door for this baby and I have to say it's definitely worth the price.
Like his dad Robert O'Callaghan, Travis knows his stuff.
