As a 'newbie' to FF, I need some guidance from experts. I have 195,000 Qantas FF Points; 162,000 Kris Flyer and 5,000 Starwood PG.
I would like to use the QF points to take my wife and I and the 2 children to Bali (from Melb) - i think 200,000 points needed. I was then hoping to move Kris Flyer to Starwood and use the combined amount for accom at a Starwood Hotel. It doesn't seem possible! Does anyone have any other ideas? Thanks 'Newbie'

Aren't the MEL-DPS flights on Jetstar? :(

I am not an expert but there is a rough way of getting what you need. There appear to be ways of getting miles into SQ KrisFlyer but none to get them out.

- Book your MEL-DPS flights with SQ KrisFlyer for 2 adults and 2 children and you should be able to get 4 saver awards. I just tried some random dates in Feb 2013 and availability was there. Cost would be 170,000 KrisFlyer miles + taxes and surcharges which are relatively expensive. You may need to purchase the remaining 8,000 KrisFlyer miles at USD40/1,000 miles. Look at ways of transferring your Starwood points to KrisFlyer. But either way that sounds expensive. What does a paid airfare cost? Probably just a little more than the taxes and surcharges.

- Save your Qantas points for a rainy day or if you are really desperate exchange them for Hotel gift cards. The Novotel for example requires 13,500 QFF points for $100 gift card. Not good value by any stretch of the imagination but if you really want to get rid of your points and not use cash this is one way of doing it.

Some food for thought.
