Another great fare from Cathay Pacific, this time to New York (JFK) with prices starting at $1151 return over the travel period February to March 2017.

The above fare (M class) will allow you to earn Qantas Frequent Flyer and Status points and can be used a nice little mileage earner – for example Syd-Hkg-Jfk-Hkg-Syd earns 140 status credits.

These short notice airfare deals are popping up all over the place to obviously fill vacant Y seats.

I found the JFK-HKG leg to be horrendously long in J. Can't imagine it in Y.

I once did JFK to BKK in J on Thai, and that was physically and mentally numbing. That's why these days I try not to have flights over 8 hours, and even then, try to avoid Y.

When flying to the USA (not that I do these days), I liked SYD-TYO-HNL-LAX (with a stopover in each place).

Can say I did its only 6/7 hours from CNS.

JFK to HKG is long like DFW to SYD done both with Mrs Lime for company, now if I didn't drink so much long haul it might make it boring :D

Me too - did the journey in reverse a few years ago - 15 hours from memory.
