Hi everyone. My name is Graham I live in Brisbane , new to the site , and I see I have so much to learn .
i am slowly coming to terms with how complicated these FFP's can be , I wonder of the airlines actually make them so to confuse and restrict. I worked out the other day that in spite of being a member since 1988 I must have had a quiet year flying and so lost my accumulated status credits. Instead of sticking with the one airline I went with the cheapest option . Oh well such is life .my wife and I are now more aware of what we need to do to maximise our position and a lot of it is thanks to the people on this site sharing advice and knowledge. I look forward to learning more and meeting some of you over time .

Thanks it's a bit daunting I must say. I am a late bloomer and have to work hard to accumulate SC's as I don't have the advantage of employer funded frequent travel. Looking forward to learning more

Welcome GBH.

I've been on here for a some time now and still find out so much info from the Gurus and others here. Many can be so creative in points gathering and different ways to air travel.

Welcome to AFF, I find this a wonder source of info for anybody flying, both Personal funded, and employer funded. As I am now both, I have been trying to get the company to change the airlines they use (Qantas)

Welcome aboard to both GPH and Joel Wills.

Enjoy the journey. Don't be afraid to ask questions. This forum would easily hold the best collective knowledge of all things Frequent Flyer related, in the country.

To be fair.... Most of us don't bite either!! That's a win!!

Welcome GPH, they make sure you lose any annual SCs every year although hopefully you still have your life time accumulated SC's or do you lose those as well if you don't keep your account active??

And yes there are definitely some tricks and probably finding one or two FF programs and sticking with them probably helps... But you don't have to become a status credit chaser, there are other ways to do things, more than just one strategy so read up and if you let people know your typical types of travel patterns it will help them give advice (are you looking at mainly international or domestic travel, business or personal, how frequent, what classes etc)...

And yes, can always look back on what you could have done if you had found information sources like this earlier, but never to late to get started... :)

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Yep, the lack of regular activity cost me about 5 years accumulated SC's. I think. But I never really understood it so my bad luck, but now we plan and watch thanks to the good folk on this site
