Hi sid,

Welcome to AFF.

There has been a lot of recent discussion about using Any Seat Awards (ASA's) for trips as they are often, though not always, relatively good value and in doing so you earn Status Credit and also earn some point back. Have a look around at the ASA thread and see how you go.

I’m sure he realised, but I think he was perhaps hinting that you might find a bargain in a FASA (F ASA) that will earn you some status and points back too. You never know ;)

I see , i had a look at asa and i would get 5000 points back after spending 202000 as well as 180 status credits into the account . But as i have very few status credits i dont think i could get to 350 for silver in a hurry . this is because most flights i make are all from points , hence no credits , what do you think ?

Yes I was.

It is always worth a look.

You get both points and status credits from any paid flight.

Status credits go towards assessing your level in the QFF program, during your program year (which uses the month in which you joined).

Yes, if most of your flights are award flight (using the points collected from credit card and Woolworths EDR card), then you won't be getting too far in your Lifetime ststus credit accrual.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

If you re-evaluated all your flights that are "classic awards" and found some good deals with ASA’s, then you could quite easily move up the ranks of status too, but if it’s going to be your only major flight for the year, and you’re not even going to get to Silver, then I agree it’s a bit worthless.
