New Terminal at LAX for celebrities

A good business decision for LAX as I'm sure there are many people willing to pony up the $1,800 to avoid the public.

In fact I'm sure there would be plenty of "regular" frequent flyers that would pay the premium to see what it's like.

Certainly makes the first class lounges look like a bargain.

If it is $1800 each per visit you are probably wanting to go to your own plane when it is ready to go.

Aircraft chartering companies usually provide their own small lounge building. This one is for people who are flying RPT (regular public transport) but don't want the hassle of the public terminal. I think it is a great idea and might give it a try when it is launched.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I think the $1800 quoted is US dollars so it would be about $2500 AUD. It will have to be pretty good.
Family friends have socialized with a retired merchant banker who books the whole first class cabin when they are traveling with their chef ,butlers and drivers.

Holy cow, the whole first class cabin!

Some people have too much money!

What could a merchant banker have done to deserve that much money. Much less contribution to society than a neurosurgeon I bet

I am all for capitalism, but the order of things are a bit wrong when a banker can earn so many orders of magnitude more than other highly skilled professionals

That fellow I mentioned started work in the mail room so he is a rags to riches story.
We joked about their 2 (adopted) children having their real parents turning up.
A limo trip to the Hamptons holiday estate was one children's movie in distance.
Our friend was on the staff and travelled with the children.

Meh, if he was really rich he would be on a private jet

"Retired" bloke (past tense) who books the whole F cabin (present tense).

Well, one could only guess what mode of transport he used when he was in power.

But he wouldn't earn SC's or FF points; after all that's the name of the game here :)

Does that class of people need a P1 card ?

Joyce et al would happily give them CL status in exchange for some goodwill etc....

Only in America legroom I think the saying goes.
When money is no object it is interesting how it is spent.
Anyone from the US who invested in Australian assets would have lost on the exchange rate unless they had hedged the currency so most US investors bailed a long time ago.

American? I thought you were talking about Malcom Turnbull?

The new terminal could be helpful for some of the Gulf State Airlines trying to promote Apartments etc as an alternative to a private jet.

Funding private hospitals, maybe.

To the original topic, I'm pleased, I'm sick of queuing behind faux self important who need to take a couple of steamer trunks worth with them. Please think you are important enough to use this.
