when i checked in for my QF flight to the LOTFAP the other day i was given a flyer that outlines a new temporary lounge that people will be bused too when exiting via TBIT. it stated that this would begin from September this year.

i am wondering if anyone has any experience of this yet? i am on QF176 on the 27th of September and am wondering if it's worth going to or not.

cheers.

I've seen reports of it starting 20th or 29th September, so not sure you would definitely have the current lounge closed or not.

The interim lounge will be off-site, so only worth using if you check in very early or have a long transit. I'm sure it will be in use by the time of my trip early October. At this stage I'm planning on getting a day room at airport hotel for my transit - if I'd been arriving through T4 then I would just stay in the flagship lounge there as long as possible before crossing into TBIT.

If you do visit the interim lounge, please report back.

I'll be travelling on QF93 in early October, with a connection from T4 Domestic with a 3 1/2 hour wait. I imagine that I should make my way to the domestic terminal asap, and the lounge there should be operating as normal. Is that correct?

Yes, the T4 AA lounge will be operating as normal.

Flew out of LAX last week on BA and I was given a pass to the temporary F lounge. It was up the escalators near the check in desks in the area where the fast food restaurants are.
The lounge was reasonably large and comfortable with views across the tarmac, food and drinks were available and computer terminals.
It seemed to be shared by all airlines.
The only problem with the lounge was that you needed to leave earlier than usual to allow time to get through security.

Was your invitation/entry based on COS or status?

I presume based on COS in line with most other airlines operating out of LAX TBIT (although I have received reports LH is providing interim F lounge access to HON status regardless of class of travel).

Yes my assumption too but wanted to check precisely for those reasons. But I guess there are far more QF WPs than HONs so unlikely QF is allowing status based F lounge access.

QF certainly weren't on opening day.

I am Qantas WP and was traveling BA J class. So I don't know on what basis they gave me F lounge access.

Good for BA. For me QF WP flying QF D class and no F lounge access.

My experience flying out of LAX with QF has been the same as yours kiwiflyer.
With BA though it has always been the F lounge.
After my recent RTW I would say Club World has the edge on QF business in the air as well.

Bit late , just used it in begining december, give yourself time for bus ride there and back, comfortable but no place to buy duty free untill you get back to gate

Not that buying duty free is recommended (or even all that attractive) in LAX.

Transited through LAX three weeks ago and has bussed out to a prefab building, along the side of the runway. My expectations were very low, but it was pretty good.

Was flying with LH.
