Just do what I did last night, arrange to be picked up at the departures level, hardly anyone jostling up there waiting for someone to drive up and pick them up. Easy!

Dave

Yep I do this all the time, great to jump the cab queue in peak hour as well!

It is actually illegal for a taxi to pick up at the departures levels.

The only "taxi zones" are on the arrivals levels at SYD.

Dave

Not my problem :D

How about pickups from T1 (international) terminal?

I dropped my brother at the T1 departure terminal at Syd yesterday, and I noticed that they now have signs everywhere saying that you cannot pickup passengers from the Departure level, and that fines apply...there also seemed an abundance of traffic inspectors waiting to pounce

Out of interest, I then drove to the Arrivals level, to see whether there was an area to pickup a passenger, who was waiting with his/her luggage, and could not even find a spot to legally stop my car!! So apart from using the "highway robbery priced" car park  , where can you pick up arriving passengers at T1 legally without risking a fine?

Darn! :( I don't think you can even get your car anywhere near the building on the arrivals level. I always get myself picked up on the departures level. Not any more, it would seem.

I find the best way to get home from SYD is via the OT departure gate....
