New Service PQQ-Essendon Direct flights

Just noticed the announcement of this direct service provided by Jetgo. Service is due to start in early Novemeber. I am interested to read feedback from Melbourne residents of how convenient Essendon airport is. I went to school with Paul Brederick-seems to have had a bit of a chequered run in aviation

But seriously RB - convenient in what way? Convenience to get to public transport to transit to MEL suburbs?

Yes, interested in how easy it is to get to from the CBD, what public transport options are like

Isn't the flight to Essendon? Why is the location of Moorabbin Airport relevant?

From the airport to the nearest tram stop is about 800m walk. And from there a 40min tram ride to the city. Uber or taxi would be much quicker. It's basically Tullamarine minus 5-10 minutes as far as car traffic goes. And I believe uber can operate at Essendon Airport.

A bit more info on essendonairport.com.au . I didn't realize jetgo had a few destinations already from Essendon. Seems Essendon is a jetgo hub. And there is a free shuttle bus to/from MEL and $8 per day parking. I hope it works for them.

Just bit of an update here. One of the Embraers was in PQQ yesterday JETGO lands | Port Macquarie News

Issue at the moment is they aren't in the GDS. A few weeks ago it was only by chance we found their direct flights to Dubbo. Very convenient but I reckon they probably miss a lot of bookings just due to the fact they don't show up in searches on the main booking engines.
