OzFlipper said:I hate to be a killjoy, but how will this work economically? If you replace a 2+3+2 with a 1+2+1, assuming the pitch remains the same you have just increased the cost recovery by a multiple of 7/4. Does that mean a business class seat on SIA will be double the price of competing airlines? There has to be some economic logic that I'm missing.....
SQ 777s mostly have 2-2-2 in business class (the oldest ones do indeed have 2-3-2 but the new a/c is not replacing these but instead replaces the 772ER and 747 on the applicable routes). Also the way they have set up the seat the pitch reduces without reducing bed length, thus can fit more rows in the same space.
