I've been an avid TripIt user since it started, and its getting better and better...

But I've noticed the last couple of QF bookings I've forwarded to the "plans@..." email address haven't been added to my itinerary, and when logging into the website, they're shown as unrecognised.

How annoying.

Have sent TripIt an email so will hopefully be fixed soon.

My last one ended up in TripIt properly, but that was an award booking .. I guess it uses a different PDF format.

What you're probably best of doing is contacting the folk at TripIt -- let them know that QF have changed their eticket PDF and send them a sample or two. (I'd be doing the same thing only I don't have any etickets in the new format yet).

FWIW, I have had no problems uploading any new QF E-tickets onto tripit.

Same here, new format eticket worked first time without issue.

QF won't be able to help you with any TripIt issues, so follow the instructions on this page to resolve the problem.

TripIt are super-fast at responding to feedback (generally within 24hrs I've found, at least as a paid member), and if there is a problem with the document they'll analyse it and revise their import engines to handle the issue.

Also, their help section has drastically improved in the last few weeks. Its much easier to consult and find answers if you do encounter any issues.

Rather absurd to think that QF would resolve this kind of problem!

FWIW I forwarded the new kind of e-ticket itinerary to TripIt (just starting to use it) and it worked fine.

My fingers were typing before my brain caught up - obviously I meant to say that I'd sent TripIt an email, certainly not QF!

Interesting that no one else has had the same issue. I'll see what they say.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

After reading this thread this morning, I sent a Jetstar itinerary (NTL-BNE) to plans... and Tripit interpreted it as (NCL-BNE). Had a closer look at the PDF and noted that in this case at least (I only had the one Jetstar itinery to try), Jetstar had not used the airport codes but had the ports entered as "Newcastle" and "Brisbane". I guess this is reasonable because the >95% of the travellers who don't read AFF or FT would recognise the city name more readily than the airport code.

However, for automated itinerary builders, someting like " Newcastle (NTL)" would eliminate error.

The QF e-ticket itineraries do not include IATA codes either.

Exceptions did include my recent F award ticket which was booked as (spelling and capitalisation exactly as printed):
  • Brisbane - Sydney
  • Sydney - Bkk Suvarnabhumi
  • Bkk Suvarnabhumi - London Lhr
  • London Lhr - Frankfurt

Seems like TripIt will automatically assume the more "popular" or more used port. Just as Newcastle (UK) appears to have beaten Newcastle (AU), so does Brisbane (AU) and Sydney (AU) beat their counterparts in the US, thankfully.

TripIt will probably evolve a few more "smarts" over time to take things like ports serviced by the carrier and flight times into account when building the itinerary.

Does anyone use American Express Corporate travel? If so are the travel itineraries (word documents) provided by Amex recognized by Tripit?

Only one way to find out. :)

Of course, in cases like this, it'd be nice if TripIt had some sort of "Undo" command, just in case it makes a complete mess of an itinerary it attempts to import.

It doesn't work !!!!

However - Amex travel do provide ics files for the initial bookings - but if changes are made they do not re-issue ics files.

I normally input the files into iCal and then synched over the air to my iPhone.

I have also emailed the new tix several times and it works fine :)

I have been using TripIt for some time and find it good for non US travel and excellent if travelling a lot in the US.

Recently, I have had problems with a mixed QF/JQ itinerary, where it does not recognise JQ flights. You can successfully enter the JQ flights manually. No problems with an itinerary that is only JQ.

Go figure.

I too have had no issues with forwarding QF itineraries. Easiest way is from the booking, to "E-mail a friend" and then once you receive that e-mail, forward that one on.

Goodness, can't believe this thread has come up again - I think it was an issue for maybe a 24 hr period or something, 6 months back...

Have you logged a support request? If not, are you happy to send me the details & a sample which I can bung through to them on a Pro support request to get this fixed?
