New Qantas Double status credits offer (book by 2/9/26; travel 3/9/26 until 14/8/27)

If you book a QF operated flight to LAX and QF involuntarily moves you to one operated by American Airlines you would be able to claim ORC. So long as you book a qualifying flight and don’t voluntarily change to one that doesn’t qualify you should be fine.

I booked MEL-BNE-CNS return on a public holiday long weekend. 480 SCs at $3.33 per SC sounded ok to me.
Is the inbound aircraft into Cns the same as the outbound from Cns? If so, I could book as 2 separate tickets to shorten the day?

Yes, usually; if it’s an E90 or A220 then almost certain to be the same aircraft turning back to BNE.

If it’s about 40 minutes between scheduled arrival and departure that would probably suggest same aircraft turning around immediately.

No guarantees though that they won’t use a different aircraft for the flight back if the inbound is significantly delayed or has issues that need looking at by maintenance.
