Points aren't the point IMHO.
How about double,status credits ? Now that's a promotion.

Indeed, basically giving back what was enhanced in June with a little more, perhaps in reality a 5% bonus compared to bookings made back then.

I like the quote in the article:

"We’re often looking for opportunities to reward our members beyond what the program normally offers..."

It must be pretty easy to find such opportunities - just look through the list of prior enhancements!

I think that's gone where Anytime Access to lounges has gone.

And rightly so in my opinion. But that's a debate for another thread.

Edit-Solved: Does this offer require registration? as I have a trip I need to book ASAP, but would rather hold off to get the Double points.

Yes it does require registration and is now on the QF homepage.

The T&Cs state the following "Flights can be booked via qantas.com, a travel agent or Qantas Contact Centres"

Am I correct in assuming that for this purpose OTAs are treated like a normal TA? Unfortunately the itinerary I require can't be booked through the QF website.

Looks like you're correct. I would have placed money on a DSC offer after June.....maybe they'll return after the mass clean-out that will inevitable occur when the last 12 month membership cycle rolls over in 2015/16

My TA currently has a booking held for me from a few days ago which I haven't paid for yet. I've just registered for the promotion - if I go ahead and pay for the booking now, am I eligible for the double points?

I think you'll be OK as long as it is a new booking with a QF flight number.

Double points for a week's bookings. They are really flinging $100 bills up into the air with a devil-may-care attitude, aren't they?

Now a week when they would offer double seat availability for travel in a 6 month period, that would actually be useful.

is now on the QF homepage

Where it is currently being spruiked as "double ponts" Honestly, who is in charge of that website? Incredibly unprofessional look for a major organisation.

The 4th ad on the main page where the advertisement changes right next to the booking module

Good pickup! even I didn't notice it!
