I know that this doesn't affect many people but it's good for PPS members - I would have made Solitaire this year with all the travel I'm doing.

From 1 June 2018, we will also be making adjustments to the qualification and renewal criteria for Solitaire PPS Club membership. Members who accrue S$50, 000 PPS Value in a membership year will qualify into the Solitaire PPS Club. To requalify, members will similarly need to accrue S$50, 000 PPS Value a year. Changes will also be made to the validity period of PPS Reserve Value from 1 June 2018. With this change, it will now be faster for you to qualify into the Solitaire PPS Club.

A couple of quick initial comments. Solitaire will be easier to get but harder to retain. A definite incentive to qualify in the next 12 months, if possible. I love the fact that miles will not expire. And there will be Saver redemption priority for PPS members.

I think on balance positive moves. Interesting this follows a more LH Miles & More type approach. I do like the non-expiring miles bit.

As a "EGTP" (EG = Elite Gold, in my own right, "TP" = Solitaire Supplementary Card holder") the priority seating benefit is terrific. I went in on June 1 and moved three seat allocations for upcoming flights to exit rows. Reminds me of the good old days when WP's got free access to exit rows over in QF-land.

My only beef is they are still hung up on J/F revenue. OK I get it, J/F provide the cash they need. But when your J fare is 6x the fare for 12x the distance (and 4x the space) compared to your next Y fare .. you wonder which is more profitable?
