Some nice ones in Australia - particularly nice that the HI on Flinders covers the date of the AFF get-together in August.

Overseas the pickings are a little scarce (ie way out of the way), but still it's good to see them refreshed.

And rooms available as well, makes for good value, given the rates beng charged that weekend around Melbourne

This was my first time redeeming priority club points and did not realise it was that easy. Have booked a room in Sept for HI Flinders Lane and I think its great value....

Thanks for the heads up on the Priority Breaks...

Thanks to markis10 for the heads up. I have cancelled my 2 nite stay in the HI, Melbourne that I had booked for over $400 to attend a conference; now it is only going to cost me 10000 points...and the New Stay xx_ get 10k promotion is starting again.:D

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Holiday Inn ON FLINDERS MELBOURNE & Holiday Inn POTTS POINT-SYDNEY have now been removed from the listing, only leaving:

Crowne Plaza PARRAMATTA-SYDNEY
Holiday Inn BRISBANE

However, awards look to still be available at these hotels, so it could be a website glitch.

I booked 1 night at the Bris HI. It had been showing as FULL and I had enquired about getting a plat room released and was told it would be $500 odd. Now Point Breaks come out and it is still full for paying reservations, but had availability with the 5k points break rate! Go figure!

Just tried to check for another room at the HI On Flinders Melb in early Sep and noticed the reward rate is back to 25000 a night....Boy, less than a week since advertised. You do have to be quick with the 5000 point offers.

Yep, Potts Point looks to be the same too. So the hotels going missing from the webpage look to be a 'final call'... Surprising they aren't around for long, but as they are a huge discount to normal rates at a prime location someone isn't making money from them.

What is not known is how many rooms are available at the points break rate. I would guess not many, just enough to cover the period in question, or perhaps they are willing to let redemptions occur on the lower rate till a particuler number of room nights go.

On the plus side they are easier to find than the $1 rooms on RoamFree!

Holiday Inn BRISBANE has been removed now as well.

Only one left in Oceania from the current round of hotels is Crowne Plaza PARRAMATTA-SYDNEY

I was lucky I managed to get 2 nights just before they removed it from the list of pointbreak hotels. It would have been nice if it was still on the list as I need some accommodation for a couple of nights next week as well.

New Pointbreaks are out for stays until Nov 30.

The Oceania hotels (with one or two geographically challenged entries)

AUSTRALIA
Crowne Plaza Hotel ALICE SPRINGS
Holiday Inn BANDAI SILVER Hotel (NIIGATA) [Japan]
Holiday Inn SAMARA [Russia]

FIJI ISLANDS
Holiday Inn SUVA

Almost every hotel in China is on the Pointbreak list but nothing in Singapore or Thailand.... :-|

Thats cause its damn near impossible to get a visa to China or so it seems ! actually its easy enough but a lot of paper work thats for sure....

I dont understand your comment about the APEC card. I have an APEC card but I dont see how that helps me with a visa for China. Am I able for instance to just turn up at China, flash the APEC card and walk straight through with a visa on arrival?

I know this sounds like a gumby question but all I have been using it for is to use the priority lanes at the airports!

Correct, if your approved for China then the APEC card is your visa :)
