Interesting, I guess the subsidies are helping.

Jetstar will begin the new routes from Avalon in March 2016:

eff 27MAR16 Avalon – Adelaide 3 weekly
JQ632 AVV0905 – 0955ADL 320 357
JQ633 ADL1025 – 1210AVV 320 357

eff 28MAR16 Avalon – Hobart 4 weekly
JQ627 AVV0905 – 1020HBA 320 x357

JQ626 HBA1050 – 1210AVV 320 x357

Makes me happy.. 2 more holiday destinations :) Avalon shuttle bus picks up/drops off at my front door ($36) ..no rip off parking fees!! I hope people support these new destinations from AVV. I already happily fly the SYD and OOL routes :)

That's great, not a great time of year to be starting HBA (peak season being Sept - April of course).

Having said that, i wonder if they will try and sell packages to o/s tourists (arrive from o/s into SYD, time in SYD then SYD-AVV and do great ocean road, then AVV-HBA and do tassie then back to SYD for flight home). Convenient for tourists.

There's a reasonable amount of travel from greater Geelong area into Adelaide, so 3/wk may be targeting some of this (rather than driving).

They announced the AVV route last week in Tassie.
Ads on Tassie TV now advertising the new route as a means to tour the Greatv Ocean road.
Although Tassie tourist season is Sept-april the great Tassie northern migration fills the rest of the year.;)

Great ocean road not that much warmer in July than Tassie....

That's just the ads.We see plenty of them in QLD during winter.Easy to recognise-they are the ones wearing shorts and bare chested for men or bikini top for women.

HBA certainly wasn't surprising considering the extra seat Capacity QF announced a few months ago for the apple aisle.
Pity it's not a daily service, although I suspect it may pick up to daily in 12 months time.
