New Hobart Qantas Club

This must be a new low.
No ‘lounge’ just a space for prepacked sangers. No seating.
Nada.
And they had the front to verify my eligibility. View attachment 509599
I feel sorry for the staff that will have to operate it...explaining what it is and how it works to 100s of people for the next however many months...thankless task!

I feel sorry for myself
Who having flown JQ out of Hobart never got the chance to fill up haha
And this season with the flight departing so much earlier excitement

Hopes dashed
After a day of touring , a snack always handy

Fortunately, I switched onto a QF flight to Sydney so there’ll be booze on-board

Yes, although on my last JQ flight out of HBA I was refused entry to the temp lounge due to space constraints (!). Not happy... Don't feel the love at my home port so I try to manage time in the terminal down to the minimum...

To be fair, they said it would be grab and go, so you wouldn't expect seating.

Sandwiches look better than the food usually on offer in the QP. Were there drinks other than coffee from a machine available?

Certainly not defending it in any way, but you know the reason why this is there?

A true low would be for them not to have anything at all. That wouldn’t worry me too much as more often than not I didn’t use the old QP due to crowding.

Yes. The new lounge is in the same spot as the pop up, which I am trying to compute as it’s a bit of a haul to gates 3,4, 5 which the lounge lady tells me they will be using once the rebuild is done.

I just thought something more appropriate to a ‘lounge’ would be provided. But this is Qantas.

Partner was at airport this morning and took some pics for me. I’ll get to try it in a couple of weeks on the way to Melbourne assuming they let JQ passengers grab and go… our flight leaves at the same time as a Qantas service (sadly no reward seats so had to go with the Star but flying home on the roo)

Shame they couldn't have had a proper barista service or at least a fridge with non-alcoholic drinks (presumably they couldn't let you take away the harder variety)

Praise be when anywhere at HBA is ‘a bit of a haul’ - getting some size there. That said, the baggage carousels have always be a bit of a haul for arrivals right down one end of the terminal from Qantas.

Gates 8 and 9 will be the international gates in the future so I don’t know where that leaves gates 6 and 7. Oh, maybe JQ.
