New Hobart Qantas Club

Not sure if I can be bothered to do anymore, or do I just take the $100 hotel voucher (which I will use as we do sometimes make booking with them) and forget it!
Nice try @Flyingwombat - The response clearly shows they've done their homework.
I'd accept the $100 Hotel Voucher and move on.

So I got my reply. It was already delayed twice... in summary, it is basically saying "go away" because you have been gold before and now have requalified for PC+... all things that brought Qantas revenue - I don't see what they have to do with the specific situation of me being a Southern TAS resident with a lounge that is to close at short notice for an extended time.

I would have thought being a member of FF since 2000, paid QC since 2005, being platty and gold in the past when I was working full-time and having LT silver might have meant they could do something better than a hotel voucher...

Dear Wombat,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback through the Airline Customer Advocate. We appreciate you bringing your concerns regarding the upcoming Hobart Qantas Club closure to our attention, allowing us the opportunity to review your case.

We completely understand your passion for the Qantas Club experience and how highly you value this space. As your home port, we recognise how much you rely on the lounge to relax and work before your flights, and we sincerely apologise for any disruption this causes to your upcoming travel plans for the remainder of the year.

Qantas regularly reviews its programs and infrastructure to ensure we maintain a premium environment that aligns with the expectations of our frequent flyers. While the lounge is closed for construction, a temporary space will offer light refreshments. When the brand-new lounge opens in early 2027, it will deliver a significantly larger space, increased seating, and excellent runway views.

In light of your request for a complimentary 8-month extension, we have conducted a thorough review of your membership history. By way of background, your account has previously benefited from COVID-19 extensions and complimentary Qantas Club access via your past Gold status. You are also currently receiving complimentary Qantas Club access as a Points Club Plus member, which runs until August 2026. Aside from these features, you still hold one year of paid Qantas Club membership, which was paused from your 2019 renewal. As these entitlements accumulate, your current Qantas Club expiry date actually stands at 31 August 2027.

We are also pleased to acknowledge that you have successfully retained your Points Club Plus status for the year ahead. Consequently, when your membership resets this August, your complimentary lounge access will extend to August 2027, at which point your one-year paid membership will activate. This brings your new, total expiry date to August 2028.

While we fully understand your request for a Qantas Club extension due to the Hobart lounge renovation, please be assured that you will continue to have uninterrupted lounge access in your own right well into the future through your retained Points Club Plus status. This ensures you will be able to enjoy full access to the brand-new Hobart Lounge long after its completion.

As we appreciate you reaching out to share your concerns regarding your lounge access in Hobart, we would like to offer you a $100 Qantas Hotels voucher as a gesture of our goodwill. Your voucher details and redemption instructions will be sent to you in a separate email within two business days.

Thank you for your ongoing support of the Qantas program.

Kind regards,

Bert

They've obviously done a bit of research for the response. At least it's not a cookie cutter response

Yes I agree!

Yep true - I think time to move on. But boy I will be giving myself triple pours of alcohol when the new lounge is open...
