EU Blacklist Concerns.

Even as the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) pushes for greater international cooperation in the exchange of safety data and in providing information to the public, new fault lines are emerging over the European Union’s blacklist.

As part of its high-level safety meeting in Montreal that concluded April 1, ICAO is seeking a more expeditious worldwide exchange of safety information to better spot areas where improvements can be made. Industry officials had suggested that current accident rates are likely to plateau unless new areas of improvement are identified.
