@Cove. I'm doing the same with my Bank of Melbourne card. At least this way I'll get some QF points In any given year we pay a considerable sum in financial, insurance and government (e,g, rates) charges and premiums via Citibank. I guess this will be its loss.

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I rang Citibank today to chase up my 40,000 points (still haven't received them, signed up for the card more than a year ago, keep getting told they'll call me back). The operator told me that my card (Platinum) no longer credits to Qantas. Another card headed for the scrap heap... after I get my points. Bloody Citibank. No follow up, sneaky eroding of benefits.. it's not worth the effort.

It's becoming exponentially harder to earn QF points, and with the phone ASA business, exponentially harder to redeem them for anything besides coughpy Woolies Gift Vouchers. It's far more worthwhile putting one's efforts into finding cheap J class fares on the open market than accumulating points with an ever-diminishing value.. still... being that credit cards are a necessity, it's time to find the next one. Citi have sufficiently screwed me, it's time they started screwing themselves.

Which Citibank card did you apply for? As far as I know Citi still has a card/s that can be linked to QF.

I'd be interested to learn about your research to find an alternative to the Citibank Emirates Platinum Card, or whatever it is your are wanting to replace.
