Card Promotions New ANZ Frequent Flyer Black 110,000 points & $100 back

Same experience, bonus points came quickly.
If you close account half way through billing cycle do you forfeit those points?

According to the terms and conditions you do, but anecdotally people have had spend points in their next statement. I wouldn't want to try it with the bonus points, though, in case they operate in a different way (as seems to be the case with the unrelated Suncorp card right now).

Looks like this has just changed to 90k bonus points with only $100 annual fee reduction. My 12 month exclusion period ends on Wednesday and I was going to apply Thursday. Pretty average deal now.

Unless there is still some third party indirect offer at the old rate?

This now appears to have gone back up to 110,000 points. Sadly I applied three weeks ago and got 90,000 points today :(

Applied on Saturday. Called up today on Tuesday to check on progress. The guy looked through the payslips and asked some questions and an hour later I was approved.

Can the new card be added to Apple Pay to use before the physical card arrives? Was able to do that sigh the westpac altitude card I got last year.

How long is it taking for everyone to get Qantas bonus points added to the FF account? It was over a month ago we hit the minimum spend, their chat line is saying 3 months?!

The statement after the statement that contains the last of the minimum spend in my experience.

For instance, if I hit minimum spend halfway through statement period 2, I'd get it at the end of period 3.

I don't think I could add it to Google pay until the physical card arrived

Is this the lending criteria, circa $180k p.a.?
I read that as advice for whether the card is suitable or not. It's a high fee, high interest card and if you don't expect to be able to pay it off, it may not be suitable.

Fwiw I feel like black cards with 15k limits used to advertise a 75k income requirement

Thanks, the detailed explanation was really helpful :)

So I just got my card but when I add to Apple Pay, it asks me to call the number to verify the card. I have never seen this with all other cards that I add to Apple Pay.

There is always an option to verify by SMS.

Have you activated the card first?

Yes it's activated before I tried to add it to Apple Pay.

Waited on the phone for 15 mins and they added it to all my devices.

She said maybe it's because I changed my mobile in the last week. She also said they've been having lots of fraud lately.

My brother applied for the current 110K points offer. He's been an ANZ customer for 31 years. Has never defaulted on any ANZ product (or any credit product of any kind). Has never paid ANZ a cent of interest. Owns his own home outright. Has more than $200K in the bank. Is single with no dependants. Has no debts of any kind.

Application denied! The reason? He's recently started a new job and doesn't have three months of payslips from that job. Sumand at ANZ's call centre (in Asia, obviously) told him it was a no-go, despite ANZ's own lending terms saying, "If you do not have a payslip that shows a 3 month Year To Date income figure, we will require supporting documentation to show 3 months of income such as previous payslips; your most recent ATO Income Statement; or your Individual Tax Return and ATO Notice of Assessment no older than 22.5 months)" (https://www.anz.com.au/content/dam/anzcomau/documents/pdf/CC_document_guide.pdf).

To top it all off, ANZ still did a credit check on him, knocking more than 50 points of his score. He's now closed all his ANZ accounts and ended his relationship with the bank.

He should try an AFCA complaint.

I'd love it someone could help me interpret the ANZ Frequent Flyer Black, terms and conditions when it comes to eligible spend.

I need to hit a $5 minimum spend. Trying to work out what bills I can pay that will count towards that minimum spend.

The T&C's says that Cash Advances (or equivalent) aren't eligible and their definition includes "paying a bill (unless it’s through BPAY and where the biller accepts a credit card for the payment)". Does that mean if I pay using BPAY it counts towards the minimum spend?

Any experience or advice would be appreciated.
