New Amex statement credits

Has Anyone made a purchase through Aussie Farmers Direct?

Great deal that expires in a few days "Spend $60, receive a $20 credit".

Curious to know of experiences of quality of produce and price comparison to Conventional shopping experiences.

I bought from them a few years ago and found quality a bit hit and miss, but not sure what they are like now.

I haven't. Delivery seemed too difficult for where I live and I wasn't happy about spending the $10 for an esky when I probably wouldn't have used the service again.

But if you are going to use them, do't forget about stacking with cashrewards. They have a $20 cash back offer for first time users. So it would be just $20 for a $60 spend.

Thanks.

I used my Amex banking log in on Connect and it let me into the site but no option to add a card. When I click through to an offer and click the 'Enrol now' button, it opens a new window with me logged into Amex banking and the Offers tab open showing what offers I have available/saved for the main card.....

..... now it's me going round in circles.

I tried creating a new Amex banking account using the supplementary card number but that fails saying the card is already registered. This makes sense since the supplementary card is precisely that and is tied to my card and account.

Wibble!!!!!!!!!!! :confused: :confused: :confused:

Thank you for the various replies. I finally worked out how to register supplementary cards.... the issue was, of course, user error. I was logged into the Amex banking site at the same time

Has anyone got the $10 back for fuel purchase? The offer reads in-store only.. Or am I missing something?

Did my first purchase tonight. Got email straight after my purchase. Amex are pretty quick with these things and don't need to chase them up. I hope acceptance remains strong and incidence of surcharges doesn't rise post implementation of Interchange 'reforms'. They're a class act.

Got the email shortly after filling our family car last night:

Thank you for using Amex Offers with your Card ending xx_XX at BP EXP ASPLEY 1404. If your purchase meets the offer terms, you will receive a $10 credit. Credits usually take 5 days to appear on your account upon completion of your qualifying transaction, but may take up to 90 days after the offer has ended.

Does the qantas offer work if you book hotels through the qantas.com website? I don't see anything in the T&C's about specific eligible spending, or am I missing something?

Qantas hotels will appear on your statement as either Qantas Hotels Pty Ltd or Hooroo Pty Ltd being the merchant.

For this Amex credit to work correctly you need Qantas Airways limited as the merchant, in other words the booking of airfares.

Note: in previous campaigns by Amex, the purchasing of vouchers will also enable the credit to processed. hopefully this remains the case this time too.

Thanks for the tip. I think this is terrible mistake for Amex to not mention it in their T&C's. All it says is that you need to make your purchase through qantas.com:

"Register by saving the offer to your eligible Card. Spend $350 or more on that Card, in one or more transactions, online only at qantas.com by 21/7/16 to receive a $50 credit."

Nothing is said about "eligible spending" - and the layman is unlikely to know what purchases will be processed by what subsidiary through the qantas.com website. All they can see is that you can book flights + accomm through qantas.

Normally this kind of thing gets addressed through the "eligible spend" criteria, which is not spelled out in the Full T&C's either.

The full T&C's state what is not eligible, but I don't think they've made it clear:

C. Transactions that are not eligible The following transactions are not eligible and will not count towards your spend for the purposes of the offer: - transactions where you do not spend directly with the merchant (for example, if you buy the merchant’s goods through a third party department store);
- transactions processed through a third party payment processor (for example, PayPal);
- transactions that are subsequently cancelled or refunded;
- transactions where you buy a gift card, store credit or a voucher.

The way I see understand it, Qantas in selling accommodation is the merchant.

I wasn't aware HCF accepted Amex.
Has HCF accepted Amex for long?

I'm with HCF. Usually avoid Amex as it only gives 0.5 points/$. I'm a few months ahead of payments from using the Coles Gift MC offer but this looks like a winner.
NB when I last tried there was no minimum spend at HCF :)

Well thanks for your insights!

I'm intrigued to learn in which geographical area where BP is the price leader, what area do reside in?
It does happen.

BP in Canterbury, Campsie and Punchbowl are very expensive. In Bass Hill BP is as cheap as the independents.

You have to be lucky to strike a BP that is reasonably priced.

Quite. I've moved all health insurance to my MC so I get 1pt/$, soon to be 0.66.

What are you buying on this offer - if you are not with HCF, anything to be had?

Good question.....
