New Amex statement credits

Correction, I just got the same two offers on my Reserve. Happy days :).

Activated the new Reserve last night and the WW and DJ 'Welcome offers' appeared this morning.

I have also received (on the Platinum Charge) what appears to be another targeted welcome offer of spend 200 get 40 back at Platinum Travel Services. T&C's state you can combine with the $300 travel credit (still need to put $200 min on the charge) but spend for the statement credit cannot be on flights.

I have an international qantas award booking I need to make next week. I was cursing the end date of the Amex qantas offer, but does anyone know (apologies for going off topic) if I can use a qantas voucher for taxes on an award booking?

Cannot pay taxes with the voucher. I wish you could!

I've got several vouchers that will soon expire that I have been unable to use because I have been making reward bookings only.

Boom time for Amex credits - the party goes on! I have 5 new offers today, not all available on all my cards;

Supercheap Auto - 100/20
Aussies Farmers Direct - 60/20
Estee Lauder - 75/15
Bing Lee - 300/50
Rebel - 50/15

Rumour that SCA is going to have a 20% off sale this weekend.

Am I right that chain hotels booked via Amex travel still qualify for stays/points etc?

It depends on the chain. As an example, Accor Hotels would not accrue any points / stays unless booked directly from the Accor site or with individual brands sites or directly with the hotel.

For those with a SCA offer, it is time to buy a giftcard today for the sale tomorrow.

I didn't buy any gift cards but stocked up on oil (combined 36% discount on top shelf oil is pretty much unheard of :D), few expensive tools (from the limited SCA non-cough range) and a few odds and ends over 4 of my AMEX cards :D.

$503 to $332 - win :D

I scooped 4 Rebel credits yesterday for a single spend in store by splitting payments across 4 cards. $210 spend becomes $150 :).

Did you manage this via 4 gift card purchases or were they 4 individual items you bought? I am looking to leverage 3 cards over 2 pairs of shoes with the Rebel July shoe offer (2nd pair half price).

I would think so.

An IHG booking I made last year did not (so I cancelled, rebooked direct and pocketed the statement credit).

Hilton recently denied me diamond benefits for use of a third party booking (flight centre of all places) which was a little annoying, albeit would have been expected if i was up to date on reading the T&Cs.

No, bought shoes and clothes. That offer has ended.
