Flights are announced to start March 20 and to run 3 times per week. Fares are claimed to start from $169. The airline started out using leased aircraft but now - "In early 2022, the airline, now backed and part-owned by the China Aircraft Leasing Group (CALC) (indirect subsidiary of China Everbright Group), --- announced that it will be operating a mixed fleet of Airbus A320neos and Comac ARJ21s" It apparently operates on a BOB basis but food can be pre-ordered at a discount. The only incident I can see involving it is a collision while a plane was being towed in Jakarta.

Given Jetstar is resorting to having to operate a ADL-PER international flight to pick up more capacity on the PER-DPS route, I'm kind of surprised there was actually more capacity on the Indonesian carrier side to allow this to occur especially given Air Asia, Batik and Citilink all currently operate on the route.

I think all the Perth/Bali flights are narrow body so that may leave some room to play.

TransNusa were a charter operator for a while but have been expanding on domestic IDN routes as Lion (and Garuda to some extent, when they nearly went bankrupt) pulled back.

When taxiing in to CGK T3 late last year there were 4 TransNusa aircraft sitting parked but not near gates, including two of the C919 jets. They are definitely a real airline. Now, would I fly with them… maybe not.

@Forg The C919 seems to be about the same size (and looks similar) to a 717, so I don’t think they would be operating to PER. That route would be A320s.

The 919 is similar in size and looks to an A320, the 909 is a 717 clone. Maybe QF should get some 909s to support their A220 ops

My understanding is that because the C919 has neither an EASA or FAA 'Certificate of Airworthiness' it would not be allowed to do commercial passenger flights to Australia.

Anyone recently flown Trans Nusa to Bali? Worth it instead of Jetstar? Hovering ....

I don’t think the Comac is permitted to fly here until CASA approves it, which would likely not occur until the FAA or EASA does so.

Darwin to Lombok is a weird one, Perth to Lombok would work and I’m surprised nobody has launched that yet.

According to local media, the airline will fly a 95-seater Comac C909 aircraft on the Darwin-Lombok route, which will initially operate four times per week, with the potential to increase frequency to match demand.

The C919? Not heard anyone saying it's been on a visit there and seen no pics. Not seen (TransNusa) do PER-CGK

EASA did some test flights late last year and reportedly are not far off certifying. As it stands trans Nusa use them to fly mainland flights at present.
