Hi all.

I got an email to tell me my QFF points (180,000) will expire at the end of October if I don't use them. I got rid of a CC last year when clearing debts. Now I guess there's an opportunity to keep the points I have and get some new ones with a new CC. There's some purchases I expect soon that could easily cover 5K in 3months. Looks like some bonus offers out there right now that I will investigate. Unfortunately I don't work for a bank anymore that covered the annual fee and gave a preferential rate.

Main uses for the points would be flights/upgrades/hotels.

Anyway, hopefully some helpful threads (and members) to check out - it may take me some time :)

Cheers,

Raimondo.

Welcome to AFF @Raimondo D'Inzeo - you'll find lots here to keep you going.

One question about your Qantas points. They only expire if there hasn't been any activity in your QFF account for 18 months - It's not from the date you earned the points, unlike some other airlines' scheme. Where did the email come from? https://www.qantas.com/en-au/frequent-flyer/member-support/points-expiry

If that is the case, all you need to get some new points into your account. Woolworths is an quick and easy route https://shopping.qantas.com/everyday-rewards

This is a welcome thread so you aren't likely to get many useful replies here. You'll benefit by posting/reading the appropriate threads about expiring points.

Welcome aboard. If you’re based in Australia, download the Qantas Wellbeing app. The points earned from that will generate activity which will prevent your points from expiring.
