Hi

I'm visiting Hakone (Mt Fuji, Japan) and looking to stay at a nice and good value ryokan for 2 nights. I know they're quite exxy but I'm aiming & hoping for a private onsen in-room and nice dinner options, and close to transport as well as good things to do around the area.

Trying to stick to around $500 per night, if possible

Any pointers in the right direction is greatly appreciated. ;)

Hi Alanslegal

Have you tried japaneseguesthouses.com?

We used them last month to stay in a ryokan at Yudanaka where the Jigokudani snow monkey park is located.
They replied to my reservation enquiry within 12 hours with a confirmation and directions and we paid the ryokan directly when we checked out.

Great service!
