I just had to get a new ESTA and it was $US14. It's a simple process.

Just make sure you use the official site as listed by folks here (ie. don't Google for it and get one of the scam websites that offers to do it for you for $50.)

No I have not taken out Travel Insurance as yet, but that is a priority with me.... I have in the past always used Medibank Private and have never had any problems with it as luckily I have never needed it for any claims..... but since my last trip in 2011 to Canada.... I have reached the ripe age of 75 years so it's more important now then ever.... I would deem any advice you may offer...

My parents are in that age bracket and they used Covermore for their upcoming trip to Canada in September for their 50th wedding anniversary.

Maybe give them a call and ask for a quote telling them of any pre-existing conditions for either yourself or hubby as they may not cover you if you had to return home unexpectedly if the family member was ill because of a condition that was already diagnosed or which they were undergoing treatment for. Some insurance companies will allow you to pay extra to cover certain conditions - just ask.

Also re bags being through checked ex OOL to DFW and vice versa - this would only be if you're travelling on a Qantas operated flight ie not a QF codeshare flight operated by Jetstar. Just double check what flight numbers they are eg QF861 OOL/SYD & QF862 SYD/OOL are QF metal.

Hi John...

Can you please give me the Official website for ESTA. please... I applied for one last Friday and received an approved form but was charged $70.00 for it... nothing has come through on my Bank Statement yet, so am wondering if the approved application I received is legitimite.

Um... Your favourite search engine will give you the official site with official https verification lock.

Costs is USD $14

I'm not sure but methinks I may have been scammed.... I received an approved application, and was charged $70.00 for it...this application that was approved has a payment Tracking Code and payment received $14.00...

I think I had better email them and see if the application I received was in fact a Valid Approval.... So glad that you gave me the site... I appreciate it very much... Thank You
