Hi All

Registered for a Platinum challenge and am 4 nights short of hitting it. I have a 2 month USA stint with work coming up in October and half will be starwood and will be one check in being the SLS Hollywood, so i want to have platinum to get the suite upgrades etc haha

IM in Melbourne, so its not a cheap Starwood location, Sheraton is about $244 a night i think, so maybe that, or tempted to go up north maybe, any good value ones?

Also, if i book 2 rooms and put both on my card number on same days, does that give me double the nights?

At least you should get requal...

With only 5 weeks to go Melb City is going to Cost you 1K Geelong will cost $800.

Thanks guys! May have to try get a work trip to SYD or Queensland haha. Hope platinum
Is worth it

Did some further checking and getting credit for up to 3 rooms is not applicable for the challenge

FlyerTalk Forums - View Single Post - FAQ: Earning points for multiple rooms [Master Thread]

I completed the challenge end of Feb 2014 and was credited multiple rooms per night. My understanding was as per markis10 and FT but I specifically queried this when signing up and was told it would be credited. I had 3 rooms for 4 nights at St Regis Osaka so definitely made a difference!

I can only imagine how many starpoints that netted. Starwood are a little bit funny with multiple rooms, I have had them denied for three rooms when I did a best rate guarantee, getting the bonus on one room only.

Beautiful time of the year for Sheraton Noosa, just been re-furbed I think

The 12 nights in one stay towards the 18 nights required under the Challenge was great! I definitely clarified twice via email correspondence when signing up for the challenge so that it was in writing. When the Challenge was completed, there was no push back from SPG in regards to the multi-room stay so it seems its allowed contrary to FT experience.

And yes, the Starpoints were great too!

Does bookings through sites like agoda etc count towards nights and get your status benefits? Or is it only direct bookings, I've got a business trip to sydney coming up they put me in the sheraton on the park but booked through a booking site not direct!

almost always needs to be direct through SPG or sheraton website. Mini-bar & meals etc will give you points but you probably won't get credit for the night

Starwood tend to be very strict. Bookings only count for points stays etc if booked through SPG site. With a challenge I would not be taking risks on whether booking or rate was eligible.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.
