Need 15SC to re qualify WP

I OD on some pain killer (Dr's fault not mine) and missed my HKG-PVG trip last week.

I'll be doing a HKG-SIN-DPS return for some R&R in Bali in 2 days. By the time I return from Bali I only have 2 days to get the extra 15 SC required to re qualify WP.

I'm based in HK and any suggestion is welcomed.

How long are you in Bali? Is there a short trip you could do whilst there? JQ to Darwin?
And is a paid upgrade an option?

Actually that won't work. The visa free visit is a transit visa so you need to travel AAA-PVG-BBB. Not valid for AAA-PVG-AAA.

I don't suppose you can claim original routing credit (ORC) for flights you missed?

How many SC did you get in your previous membership year eg would you have requalified last time by more than 15SC?

If so, you may be comped so I'd call up the QF ff svc centre and enquire whether that has/will happen before you book any travel as it may be unnecessary to do so.

Why not just pick the closest CX/KA destination from HKG and do a quick return? HKG-CAN?

Seems to be the cheapest option I can think of, though if a Chinese visa isn't an issue I wonder if a J flight to CAN on KA and then bus/train back to Hong Kong would work?

DPS-DRW can be had for ~AUD55 in a sale plus $42 for the bundle and the aircraft returns to Bali so it could be done in less than 6 hours. However due to Ausse taxes DRW-DPS is usually$99 or more, but you'd only need the bundle on one sector.

I called CX to postpone the flight to a future date yet to ve fixed.

I may try to call QF to see if they will comp me first.
