Saw a promo this evening for next Tuesday night at 9:40 on NINE, the mystery of AF447, as it’ll be the 1 year anniversary.

Not sure what they’ll be able to tell anyone, seeing as it’s largely still a mystery, but thought some here might be interested. Also, not sure of the actual programs title, as it was just a blurb and soon my show was back.

Even though the aircraft in question was an A330, Airbus Industrie brought a company A340-300 to DRW a couple of months back in the midst of the wet season here to fly into storm clouds etc.

The aircraft has the serial number 001 on the nosewheel so must've been first in the fleet to roll off the production line in Toulouse & has the rego F-WWAI. I understand they stuck a few extra pitot tubes on it (measures airspeed) I guess to see if there was any link in lightening strikes interfering with them.

Not sure if they've published the findings of that exercise as yet.
