We stayed at the Belmond when we arrived in Burma.Didn't like it at all.very noisy.
Before leaving we stayed at the Chatrium.Thought it much better with views of the lake and main pagoda.Although you dont get views of sunset over the pagoda it looks great lit up at night.A club room at the Chatrium was a lot less than the Belmond. The lounge was very good. They have a shuttle into town which stops at the pagoda-it was an easy walk back to the Chatrium.

Belmond and The Strand, yep I agree, maybe next time! At this stage I'm leaning towards The Pullman Yangon Centrepoint for it's location and as per RooFlyer The Aureum in Bagan.

Regrettably the beach will have to wait for another time....

We stayed at the Belmond Gov Residence - and I didnt think it was worth it !
