I'm hoping someone can help with information/advice about the lounge access/bag drop times at Muscat International Airport.
My wife and I are flying F on EK out of Muscat next year, on a 4.55am flight. Being the silly time in the morning that it is, we're wondering whether we get a hotel room for the night before, or, whether we check-in/drop bags at say 10pm-ish the night before, go to the lounge, have a shower, and grab a nap for 4-5 hours or so before needing to jump on the plane. The benefit would be avoiding having to pay for a hotel room that night.
The only thing is that EK don't have a lounge in Muscat, and they use the Plaza Premium Lounge (even for F pax). The Plaza Premium Lounge website does state that it is 24 hours and has a private resting area, so hopefully we would be able to get some form of sleep.
My other option is to pay for a night's accommodation, but realistically that would entail me having to pay $150 for 4-5 hours sleep anyways as I'll need to wake up around that 2-2.30am mark to get to the airport, drop bags and clear security... just to end up in the Plaza Lounge.
Does anyone know how early I would be able to access the Lounge (i.e the night before) and whether Emirates would have their bag drop open for F customers that far in advance? I've tried searching but to no avail. Figured I'd ask here and hope someone has had this real world experience before making to the phone call.
Alternatively, what would you do in my position?
