I have noticed when making an online reservation with Virgin Blue, that it only allows one passenger's Velocity Rewards membership number to be entered.
The problem is, looking at the terms and conditions, the member would only earn points on their portion of the flight....meaning all other passengers miss out on earning anything.
As a rough example, say a family of 4 pay $1,000 for their return trip, points would only be earned my one member ($250 X6) meaning points would not be earned on the other $750.
There is a way around it by booking each person as seperate bookings but that's time consuming and then having to call to have them linked as one travelling party.
I think they will have to change that because I already know of two families that ended up booking with Qantas because the fare was about the same and each passenger/member earns points.
So obviously some people are motivated by loyalty programs and not just the fare.
