I often use some sort of electronics cable (which I happened to be travelling with) to measure seat pitch...most often a long headphones cable. I mark off my readings on the cable in the air, and then measure the length when I am on the ground...amazing how many airlines seem to fudge their numbers!

Interestingly there is a combination of A332 and A333 aircraft in the timetable around the x-mas period. $10,500 for business class. Ouch!

Wasn't there a sale on J fares to Hawaii & Mainland USA?

Hawaii airfares in J have always been out of whack ie disproportionately expensive compared to other destinations.

You can commence a DONE4 in JNB for around $5-6K that could include HNL and the rest of the world.

As I mentioned up thread a J award ticket on QF is 72K plus AUD350.00 approx pp ow for SYD/HNL pp ow or 57,600 plus AUD250.00 on Star Class on JQ.

Yes, in the most recent J sale (several weeks ago), you could get return J flights to HNL for about $4,800. So definitely worth holding out for the sales, if you can. The 'rack rate' on J tickets is ridiculously expensive - quite often more than the cost of a ticket to LAX!
