We will be in NYC late September this year and I wanted to get 2 tickets to a Yankees game. I have found a couple of decent websites selling tickets including the Yankees site. Problem is the section I'm looking at has nothing available yet - says tickets are released as the game approaches so to check back regularly. We're only there for 3 days so I need to secure tickets to the intended game (v Kansas City 30/09/09) without risk of missing out.

Anyone know of a website that has allocations of tickets in all areas that don't charge the earth? I'm after seats in the green/light green area which the Yankees stadium map calls "Main Seating" which are around $95US.

Thanks.

Yeah I tried the NYY website again - nothing available in either Main or Terrace so I gave up.

I found a few other sites, one of which seemed to have decent prices but only offers International Shipping delivery method to Australia of $40US - thanks but no thanks.

Stubhub looks interesting but they charge a 10% commission and you don't get a final price on the transaction until you've put in your credit card details - WTF?

I'll keep researching but it looks like a royal PITA to book tickets as a casual one game attender from overseas. As a last resort I'll ring the actual Yankees ticketing office and see what they can do for me.

Cheers

I have been to a couple of games. My boss bought me the tix to my last game via stubhub and paid a reasonable price.

Have you considered having the tickets shipped to the hotel where you will be staying? I know it is a long way off butmight be an option if you are staying in a decent hotel and advise them beforehand.

I loved my games at the baseballand it was only because we had arrived at 3AM that day that we didnt manage to stay to the end of the game.

That game is the final home game of the season, hence it is extremely popular.

The stadium is brand spanking new (well not so new by Sep 30) and is across the road from the old Yankee Stadium.

Chances are (as a tourist), you wont spend all your time in your seat, but also wandering around looking at the rest of the stadium, so why not buy whatever you can get and go anyway (I just tried and could get 2 Foul Pole seats for USD125 each).
