Hey Guys,

I'm trying to book a mixed cabin reward seat booking through VA on Etihad from Europe back to Melbourne via Sydney. First leg Business and then 2nd leg First then 3rd business and the Velocity membership centre have advised they would need price it as 3 separate legs and would cost 221,000 points which is more than a straight up first class reward of 203,000 points.

Does anyone know whether they allow mixed class redemption awards and simply charge the highest class of travel like SQ do?

Thanks in Advance

Whilst there is nothing in the fare rules that prohibits this, I've never found Virgin willing to do this. Maybe several calls might achieve what you're looking for but in this case I think you'll have to pay the extra 18,000 points.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I'd say just book all three legs in J, unless there's no availability.

I'm no longer much of a VA flyer, but I do recall that their awards system had a lot of peculiarities that seemed to not make sense.
