Hey all,

Anyone encounter this issue where Qantas availability is just not showing up on BA? Looking in particular at ADL-BNE non-stops at 3rd of Jan 26. Couple of non-stop options with award availability in business class on QF that also show up on the AA website, but for some reason the BA website only shows connecting flights? Does the call centre have access to these non-stop availabilities?

BA.com doesn't display QantasLink/Alliance Airlines flights. You need to call to book.

Did any one have experience booking this? When I called up, the agent said there was no availability. I see the flights are operated by Alliance Airlines. Finnair shows availability but costs more than under the BA chart 😔

Just booked some Qantaslink this morning via BA Call Centre.

Strangely it put me through to the cash sales team first, had to hang up, call again, same menu options and wait on hold again.

This is really a pain to book, especially given its even more attractive now with QF points increases required. Total call length 26 mins and that was with them pulling the traveller names from my account, would have taken longer painstakingly spelling over the phone.

Surely its not that hard to add Qantaslink etc to online tool?

Booked HBA-MEL, Total 18600 avios for 2 adults, 1 child and an infant, along with $232 in charges.

Booking via Qantas would be 27,600 points plus $170. So effectively saved 9000 points to spend $62. Either way had Avios sitting there that needed to be used.

Did you get them to waive the phone booking fee? It was charged at $25 dollars for me, and it was kind of sneaky that they did not mention it until right at the very end just as I was about to pull out my credit card. They only mentioned the total price of taxes and fees up until that point.

They will waive it if you say it cannot be booked online, but you did need to remember to mention it to them unfortunately.

Ahh I think I have butchered that, they mentioned $25 service fee but it was while he was laying out the cancellation conditions so I thought it was associated with that. Looks like I have been had!

Wouldn't it have been not much more expensive just to book a cash fare with VA and save your points/Avios?
