Misleading Webjet Advertising

Webjet's current hotel sale advertising stating "at least 12.5% off all Australian Hotels" and "You simply won't find a better deal anywhere else" is misleading. I tried to book a Family Room at "Posh Hotel" in Sydney. I could only book this room by searching for 2 people instead of 4 on Webjet, it wasn't shown on the list when I selected 4 people. Not much use when there are 4 of you, as you have to pay extra person charges. Booked exactly the same room for 4 people at 10% off on "Not1Night.com.au". It was also searchable and selectable for 4 people on Wotif and Booking.com. Seems that the Webjet 12.5% off does not apply to "all Australian Hotels", but they use sneaky ways of concealing this such as making a family room only available for 2 people.

I would agree, but everyone else's search engines get it right, and why would Webjet's particular search engine offer a family room only for 2 people? It does not even appear in search results when you select 4 people. Even on the hotel's direct site the room rate is offered for 4 guests.

At a tangent but equally misleading is their claim to sell tickets on all major airlines as they do not sell tickets on LAN.

When queried the answer is that it was 'a commercial decision' but is not a misleading claim :!:

I'd never use Web Jet simply because as Bill points out they don't include all carriers despite the advertising. A couple of times I have checked their pricing and not found them cheaper at all (for QF anyway)

I'm sure the hotels would be the same, if you don't agree to the Web Jet level of commission then they don't include you.

Other examples are iselect insurance.

I'm more than happy to be corrected re LAN. My info is about 12 months old and what I posted was what the Webjet consultant told me was correct at the time.
