Minimum connection time Sydney?

This may not be the correct thread so here goes….Flying DFW-SYD-MEL on the 380 in business and as a WP and only have a 2 hour connection time down to Melbourne….in reality we’re not going to make that connection so will QF proactively move us to a later flight or will we just have to take what’s on offer when we recheck in Sydney ? Appreciate any advice
On what basis do you assume will not make the connection?
Bag drop & check in done at T2 then bus to T3.

My QF flight to SYD T1 landed 3 minutes late at 6:48 this morning but I still made it to a 9 am flight on VA from T2 on a separate ticket and even had time for a shower and breakfast

No chance we’re going to bust our gut…..it will be what it will be even if we have to slum it in economy 😩.,, thanks Quickstatus🤗
Last year we weren't going to make our SYD-MEL connection due to a slightly late DPS departure making it under MCT.
CSM came to our seats with new flights before landing @pyffii
If you are on QF8, SYD can be a zoo at that time of day but my brother did it last week without issue with a 2 hour MCT.
You should be fine and agree, don't bust a gut!

You need to be at the transfer desk at T-0:45, that’s the cut off.

2 hours is plenty, if the flight is time and nothing goes wrong with bags etc.

As to the question, QF may or may not proactively move you before you arrive at the transfer desk. MCT is for schedules, part of that time is to allow for delays (which is why QF12 gets a special longer MCT). If your flight is running late (as opposed to a schedule change) that doesn’t mean you automatically get rebooked. For a connection to MEL it’s not a problem.

Lucky they wont put the 380 to use remote gate near the fire station, that is par for/of the 787, (had it a few months ago)/737 int arr.
Plane made a very weird turn, look around and yep, they parked it near the fire station, and everyone had to use those mobile stair case, and bus to a certain door to enter the T1 term, prior to immi and customs.
