Flying BNE LAX MCO all on VA PE, October.

Flight LAX MCO operated by Delta but VA flight number, has been rescheduled and we now have exactly 2 hours to connect.

VA have ticketed it (all on one ticket) with this connection but am wondering if it is an OK connection?

On NZ passport with ESTA visas.

Thanks for any help

I'm thinking you'll be ok if VA is on time. If things get tight, US CBP do try to get connecting passengers with short layovers through quicker.

When I arrived into LAX in January, we arrived into T5 from SYD on VA so that would have been perfect for you because you'd be in DL's terminal already.

However, VA now fly into TBIT so you'll have to transfer from there to T5. The front of TBIT was somewhat of a construction site when I was there but I'm not sure what it is like there now

The various recent immigration/border security threads here are worth the read.

If it's all on one ticket, then your fine... 2 hours in LAX is more than possible, and been all on one ticket means that even if something goes wrong, you'll still end up in MCO...

VA arrive into TBIT now (not T5 anymore) so you will have to make your way from TBIT to T5. It's around a 5 minute walk. Exit TBIT and turn right. Round the corner you'll pass T4 (AA) and then the next is T5 and DL.

You can do 2 hours but it's tight. As mentioned, if it's on one ticket, no problems. DL will sort it out for you when you get to T5 if you do misconnect (or possibly even when you drop your bags off at the bag re-check in TBIT).

I was going to say that 2 hours should be fine but drewbles threw that out the window with the arrival now at TBIT (Tom Bradley Terminal)

I've just published my article on Tahoeaussie -> Surviving the LAX labyrinth

You're lucky it's all ticketed together or there could have been an issue. It's a matter of getting through Immigration and then dropping your bags off before making the mad dash to T5 with your carry-on. TSA shouldn't be an issue that time of morning either and should be a breeze to get through, just try to get your boarding pass for the onward flight in Oz (Take a copy of itinerary to your checkin in case.) Just pray that you don't land after a few A380s of which there is the Qantas ones and a Korean Air that arrive at those times.

Have had a look at the flights to MCO. I've got a little more bad news, if you do miss that flight it's going to be painful as the next one that leaves won't have you into MCO until at least 9pm with a stop in ATL.

No problems. One ticket means you are protected. Enjoy the trip.
