Re: Everything You Need To Know About Skywards
Hi there. This is an excellent post, and very informative.
My query is regarding expiring points and I was wondering if anyone can help or advise with this.
In 2007, I setup my mother's skyward profile as we were both flying out to the UK. I set it up with my then current work email address. As I left the company later that year, the email became invalid.
In 2010, we had to personally go into the Melbourne office to update her account as they needed to do POI check with her. As far as we know, that was that, and she completed her booking and incurred the normal miles.
Now, after calling the office to check on her miles for her next booking, it turns out over 30,000 miles recently expired!!! We were gobsmacked.....I also have an account, but I have been getting the normal reminders the last couple of months.
It seems the consultant in Melbourne botched up my Mums account details, and didnt correctly update the email and hence, we got no notification (it still went to the old 2007 expired email account!!!).
I spoke to the helpdesk, and although sympathetic they asked me to send in an email which I did chronicling the events.
Has anyone had a similar experieince? My aim is to get the points reinstated or at least offer an appropriate small discount on her next booking.
The argument here is that the office stuffed up the 'correspondent email' details in 2010 and now we were none the wiser as to the status. Had we got the appropriate warnings, she could have at least actioned it.
Any advice would be appreciated,
S
