I have been thinking, with the introduction of more Premium cabins, such as The Residence, First Class Apartments, Suites etc., and Double Bed Business Class cabins with doors closed, whether there would lead to more incidents of passengers joining mile high club?

Moreover, I wonder whether there has ever been intimate behaviour in First Class lounges with enclosed shower rooms available for multiple people use at the same time?

Do airlines tolerate it? How would airlines prevent/manage it?

Thank you.

Shower suites… undoubtedly! Think the Cathay cabanas for example. No way the airline would know what you get up to, nor would they likely care.

As for the ‘fully enclosed suites’… that’s a bit of a myth. Doors/walls/partitions generally don’t go up very high, meaning pax and crew walking in the aisle can easily see over the top. For those that are a little higher, the doors or walls generally have some sort of lattice or louvres which you can see through from the aisle.

The only exception I can think of wouod be air france’s curtains which are true ceiling-to-floor, and it’s possible - just maybe - that if you were in the two centre seats you could get up to something. But given the pax mix in those cabins, theyre probably not the target market for the mile high club!

I think it’s fair to say that type of activity is discouraged by the airlines. And if you try to do it somewhere like the WCs I expect a knock on the door, Althygn full mark for even attempting it!

Didn't a certain investor and part owner in airlines and other enterprises all with the same trademark admit he joined the mile high club in an airplane loo.

“The British entrepreneur said it was "every man's dream", adding that he had to wipe handprints off the toilet mirror following the high-flying high jinks.”
