MHUppgrade Question

I'm booked on MH139 from KUL to ADL on the 27th of July in economy and looking at making an MHUpgrade request, I made a dummy booking to see the seat map and it only shows 4 available seats, the slider for the upgrade request is from $629 to $982, is there a possibility the amount required for an upgrade would reduce closer to the flight or should I submit a request ASAP?

You can always submit the minimum bid and then cancel it if it reduces subsequently?

Bumping with a different MH Upgrade question - it looks like one of our upcoming itineraries is entirely ineligible for MH upgrade because one flight on the itinerary is a codeshare. Has anyone had any luck with any workarounds, such as requesting an upgrade for just one of the MH legs on departure?
