Hi I will be flying out of BKK to LHR (via KUL) on 9th July on MH business class and wanted to see if anyone had any information regarding lounge access. I will be flying business class both flights. I've called MH twice and they have advised no lounge access which doesn't seem correct to me. The BKK flight is MH797 and it leaves at 6am. I will be arriving at the airport around 1am so with 5 hours to kill I really would like lounge access. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi Justinrossetto,

Looking at the one world website, there isnt any lounge in BKK for MH.

Do you have any status with MH or another Oneworld Carrier? Being either Sapphire or Emerald. This will unlock other carrier lounges for use.

MH uses the thai silk lounge in BKK if flying business, much better lounge than any OW lounge in BKK. They will give you a separate boarding pass with a lounge invite stamped on it. enjoy!

you are entitled to use any oneworld business class lounge, or, as chase mentions, the TG lounge. The problem will be finding a lounge that is open at 1am. Looks like the TG lounge might open at 5? So MH might be correct in that sense... you'd hardly have time to sit down before boarding.

Are you checking bags? I don't know what time the MH check-in will open.

Many thanks for all of your responses. I won't be checking in bags so I was hoping to check in on-line and go straight through to the lounge. It now seems like I have a long wait ahead of me before the TG lounge opens at 5am.

might be worth checking the exact time for the lounge.

the other thing is whether or not you need a lounge invitation for the Thai lounge? this would be issued at checkin rather than on line.

however, there are several pay lounges (plaza premium) which are open all night I think. and maybe a transit hotel. there are also some massage places where you could probably snooze with a foot massage :)

I think the Louis tavern or whatever it's called is open all night. Priority pass gets you in. Not sure what the paid cost is.

TG Lounge isn't anything to get very excited about. The Qantas one is probably the best in BKK

Just letting everyone know that Malaysia do use the TG Royal Silk Lounges for their business class passengers who fly out of BKK. I thought it best to clarify for all as the MH staff I spoke to on the phone said otherwise. Also the lounge was open when I got there at 4:30am and there werre quite a few people around so I think it opens much earlier than the 5pm listed on the TG website. So if you're flying on MH797 you will have TG lounge access and you will get this by way of a special invitation that is handed to you at check-in. The TG lounge was ok - plenty of seating, good coffee machine and some breakfast items. Around 5am they started brining out more substantial food (dim sum, fruit etc) and there was also a full bar and softdrinks/juices.
